ugly laughter

That about sums it up, yes. ;) Lol.

Earlier this afternoon, (Friday) following a screening of the documentary Bully at the White House, the Obama administration officially endorsed the Student Non-Discrimination Act.

[…]

The administration is on board. Now it is time for Congress to act. Please join the ACLU in urging Congress to pass this critically important legislation today.

The Student Non-Discrimination Act would provide students with explicit federal protections by establishing a comprehensive prohibition against discrimination and harassment in all public elementary and secondary schools across the country based on a student’s actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity. Importantly, the legislation also protects students who associate with LGBT people, including students with LGBT parents and friends.

This needs supported.

I guess this is the first and last thing I should say about this. This debate of gay marriage is a basic human and civil rights argument. If you can’t see that, you’re blind. I don’t need to add any more discussion to this topic because there is enough out there. But I know our children will look back at this like we look back at all the abuses of basic human rights people have committed forever since the beginning of time and be ashamed. It’s a matter of equal rights for all people. And if you think this is a Biblical issue. Think again. Get your facts straight. Do a little research. Do you think slavery is okay? Because that’s in the Bible, too. Do you think women shouldn’t be aloud to speak in church? Because that’s in the Bible, too. Do you think it’s okay to eat pork? Because the Bible says it’s not. Have you cut your hair before? The Bible says you shouldn’t do that. Do you wear jewelry? That’s not sanctioned. Do you wear clothing of mixed fabrics? Sinner. What these anti-people are doing are judging something either because they don’t understand it or it makes them uncomfortable. They’re picking out one portion of the Bible and fighting that one issue while they have left hundreds by the wayside and abandoned most of Jesus’ teachings for Old Testament laws. I could say more, but what’s the point? I just think it’s pathetic how people think they should have the right to say this is wrong by way of law. Pathetic.

I think that having opinions is necessary. Don’t take what people say at face value. You don’t have to agree with things that you’re not comfortable with or things that you think are wrong. If for some reason, you think that this is a ‘sin greater than other sins’ you commit and a ‘blasphemy’ or whatever you define it as, then have fun with that. But why the hell do you think that should stop anyone from getting married? Who the hell do you think you are? If you can get married with all your horrible prejudices and blind-eyes, then why shouldn’t a better person get to be married?

That’s all I’m going to say. I’m not sorry if this offended anyone, but I do understand if you see this differently. That’s your opinion, and you own it. No one can take it away from you, and hopefully no one will hate you for it. Because that ain’t right, to hate someone for the way that they are and for what they believe is true.

“This needs to be reblogged everywhere by everyone. It’s upsetting, but that’s what makes it important”

The things people in power can get away with and justify to themselves is astounding. And appalling.
So true.

So true.
